Donate Goods

Help us fill bags, hearts and bellies.

​

g2's programs are designed to give kids and families hands-on community-service opportunities. Some of these programs provide food and other supplies to people who need them. That means we're always grateful when the community helps us by donating funds, donating goods and helping us shop!

​

To get those supplies distributed in the most efficient manner, we now request donations to support a different g2 Signature Program each month (see our Programs page for more information about each).

​

JANUARY

Valentine's Meals for Veterans

Full kits containing all of the following items in a clean, reusable bag—or any individual items—are welcome:

​

  • Pop-top canned meals and/or hearty soups (2-3)

  • Pop-top canned vegetables and fruit (2-3 each)

  • Packs of single-serve fruit cups/applesauce

  • Packs of single-serve juice

  • Valentine's Day treats 

  • New socks and other personal care items

FEBRUARY

4 Your Care Kits

New full-size items welcome:

  • Soap

  • Shampoo

  • Toothpaste

  • Toothbrushes 

  • Sunscreen

  • Razors

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Combs and brushes

  • Bandages

  • Lip balm

  • New XL twin sheet sets

  • Comforters or thick blankets

  • Sets of towels (2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 washcloths)

  • Laundry detergent

  • Shower caddies

  • $10 gift cards to Walmart or Target for flip flops/shower shoes

  • Small first aid kits

  • Sets of dishes

  • Laundry baskets

We gratefully accept any of the following items:

  • New games that are small enough to fit in a drawstring bag

We also accept full Bye Bye Boredom Bags, which should include 6-8 toys, books, games or puzzles inside a drawstring bag.

JUNE

Sponsor-a-Student Backpack Program

​New supplies include:

​

  • 1" binder

  • Colored folders

  • Wide-ruled notebook paper

  • Boxes of pencils

  • Boxes of colored pencils

  • 10-pack of broad-line markers

  • Scissors

  • Ruler

  • Glue sticks

  • Elmer's glue

JULY

Birthday Bags

Gift bags containing all of the following are welcome, as are any of the following individual items:

  • Cake mix

  • Frosting

  • A new pack of birthday candles

  • Festive napkins

  • A goodie bag filled with four small toys or pieces of candy

  • A $5 gift card to Walgreens or Walmart

  • Handmade birthday card 

AUGUST

Cleaning with Meaning

One kit consists of a bucket filled with the following items:

  • Toilet bowl cleaner

  • Floor cleaner

  • Dish soap

  • Cleaner with bleach

  • Toilet bowl scrubber

  • Sponges

  • Cleaning wipes

  • Reusable cleaning gloves

  • Laundry detergent

  • Garbage bags

  • Mop

SEPTEMBER

FEED.

  • Rice a Roni

  • Pasta Roni

  • Cans of soup

  • Cans of Chef Boyardee

  • Granola/protein bars to be included in bags of food for students in need to bring home with them

OCTOBER

Mac 'N' Cheese Collection

Each year we strive to collect as many boxes of macaroni & cheese as the community will provide!

NOVEMBER

Holiday Gift-Giving Program

  • Holiday/winter themed wrapping paper and gift bags

  • Gift cards (please indicate the amount on the gift card) for kids and adults

Electronics Donations

g2 RECEIVES FINANCIAL DONATIONS FOR EACH DEVICE DONATED

In friendship with Lincolnshire Rotary Club, g2HQ is a collection site for out-of-commission, used and new devices to empower students in rural Africa with digital literacy. 

Donations are managed through Angaza Center, an organization committed to serving digitally underserved communities in Africa.

Accepted items include: ​

  • Laptops (MacBooks, Windows, Chromebooks)

  • Tablets

  • Portable desktops (iMacs)

  • Smart phones
